Arthur Treacher’s Fish & Chips is the 3RD largest seafood restaurant chain in the United States with over 200 locations. Founded in 1969, its main product line includes batter-dip’t fish and chips, chicken, shrimp and oversized French fries or “chips.”
The company can operate in free standing locations, mall units and other settings. Fish and Chips are the world’s first convenience food. The first place to sell the product was in London, England in 1865. A restaurant called Malin’s of Bow began wrapping fried fillets of whitefish in newspapers for customers on the go. The oversized French fries, doused with malt vinegar were added later.
