The cornerstone of The Dwyer Group Inc., Rainbow International began franchising in 1981 and now supports franchisees in the US and more than a dozen other countries. Rainbow International franchisees specialize in indoor restoration and cleaning services such as carpet dyeing, cleaning and repair, stain and odor removal, upholstery and drapery cleaning, ceiling and air duct cleaning, and 24-hour emergency water, fire and smoke damage remediation. Some Rainbow International franchisees also perform mold remediation services. Rainbow has approximately 300 franchises in the United States and Canada, and 140 franchises through master franchise licensees in nine other countries.
No previous knowledge, experience or skills in the carpet cleaning or disaster remediation business are required prior to purchasing a Rainbow franchise. Instead, new franchisees are thoroughly trained on all aspects of the business under an operating system that the company believes has proven to be successful. Beyond initial business and technical training, extensive ongoing support emphasizing the development of the franchisee's marketing and business management skills is provided by individually assigned franchise systems managers, through national and regional training meetings and toll-free telephone support. Ongoing technical training is handled in the same manner.
