Did you know that the lodging industry employs one in ten people
worldwide? On January 1, 2007 the worldwide supply of the top 200 hotel groups
reached 43,000 hotels and 5.5 million rooms.
Room Rates and RevPAR are rising. (Find out what RevPAR is in
this report.) Increased revenue is also coming from sources other than guest
rooms. Food and beverage, gift store, spas, etc. are also contributing to lodging
revenues. In short, the hotel marketplace is booming.
