Dutch Bros. Franchise Opportunities - History

In 1992, a pair of brothers, Dane and Travis Boersma, in Grants Pass, Oregon bought an espresso machine and a pushcart to serve complimentary drinks to friends. Their lattes and mochas became so successful that the Boersma brothers opened a kiosk, which rapidly expanded to nearly 200 locations in 7 western states.

How to Open A Dutch Bros. Franchise

Currently, Dutch Bros. Coffee is only offering franchising opportunities to existing employees. Dutch Bros. cites a desire to grow only with people who have demonstrated a commitment to the company and its values. For this reason, the average franchise cost and income is not known.

Dutch Bros. Franchise Business Opportunities: Other Information

Dutch Bros. makes it a point to maintain positive relations with the community at large. Following cofounder Dane Boersma’s death from Lou

Gehrig’s disease, all Dutch Bros. drive-through locations donate one day’s profits to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Additionally, Dutch Bros. holds

its “Buck for Kids Day” yearly, which gifts proceeds to local youth-oriented non-profit organizations. The company also takes pride in having each store reinvest 1% of its gross sales in the community.
