The International Franchise Professionals Group (IFPG) and Sunbelt Business Brokers Form Strategic Partnership

Parlin, NJ— The International Franchise Professionals Group (IFPG) and Sunbelt Business Brokers entered into a strategic partnership to allow Sunbelt Brokers to become IFPG Broker Members. This partnership will allow Sunbelt Brokers the ability to present to their clients 300+ franchise offerings that have representation agreements with the IFPG. The partnership will drastically expand the options that Sunbelt Brokers have to share with their clients who are considering business ownership.

Both Franchise Brokers and Business Brokers earn the majority of their income by placing clients into a business. Business Brokers have traditionally been only limited to the ones that they are currently representing for sale, while Franchise Brokers have hundreds of franchises and business opportunities available to present to clients. "The IFPG is excited to be working with the industry leader in business brokerage.Partnering with a team like Sunbelt was an obvious choice for us, since many of the Sunbelt Business Brokers are already actively selling franchises. We are confident the IFPG can help Sunbelt Brokers sell more franchises by using our tools and resources.” said Don Daszkowski, IFPG Founding Member.

Franchise Marketing Fund Disclosure: A Cold Stone Creamery Case Study

In the Cold Stone case, the franchisees are also seeking information relating the pricing of the supplies on which the franchisor is receiving the vendor rebates. If it turns out that the prices that vendors charge franchisees are artificially inflated in order to allow for payment of these “kickbacks” to the franchisor, then the franchisees no doubt will assert additional claims in their lawsuit against Kahala. Such claims may include fraud for inadequate or misleading disclosures in the Cold Stone FDD (if in fact information was withheld – at this point, we don’t know who is right or wrong).
