The Lollipop Shop Franchise

Unlike those stuffy, ready-packaged, take-it-or-leave-it stores, The Lollipop Shop is an interactive candy and toy store with "Shopper-tainment." Our customers shop in a whimsical setting as they choose and fashion the candy creations they are going to buy. They don't just pick something off a shelf and take it to the cash register. There is a step in between that we call experience-based retailing.

HISTORY The Lollipop Shop was born on March 22, 2001 on main street in Tennessee's oldest town, Jonesborough. Our first location was in a small (700 square foot) chocolate-colored building. It was the perfect place to try our concept in a town that has fairly steady foot traffic. Jonesborough has three busy months which taught us how to promote the store during slower months. One of our sweetest memories was in October 2002 during the International Storytelling Festival, Jonesborough's biggest event. The temperature soared into the upper 80's and our air conditioner broke. It was 89 degrees upstairs, but customers still came in. Our floor literally buckled and around 2:00 pm we finally had to close to fix it. We expected people to leave but no! They stood in line to get in, even knowing we had no air conditioning. If we had ever doubted it before, after that, we knew The Lollipop Shop was a winner.

Two years later we moved into our current location at 123 East Main Street. It has 3,200 square feet and a lovely, new air-conditioning system.

THE LOLLIPOP SHOP AT THE BEACH Our franchise "model' store opened on Kiawah Island at Freshfields Village on March 2, 2007. Kiawah Island is located 25 miles south of Historic Charleston, South Carolina.

AFFORDIBILITY One of the biggest advantages of buying a Lollipop Shop franchise is its affordability. On average, the start-up costs, including franchise fees, run $70,000 to $145,000, which is much lower than similar opportunities.

On top of that, The Lollipop Shop, unlike traditional candy stores, offers the potential for large purchases. Whether it's a pedal car, a party, or just a couple of animals to stuff, it isn't uncommon to have a $70 Stuff-A-Buddy sale or a $40 candy sale. In August, The Lollipop Shop of Kiawah had a $435 sale on candy and novelties alone.

The first five franchises awarded will receive a 50% discount on the franchise fee. The franchise fee for stores 1-5 is $10,000.

Note: This franchise is only being offered to residents of the United States. You must have a minimum of $80,000 to invest.
