Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Cafe Franchise

Between Round Bakery Sandwich Cafe is a bagel and sandwich deli created by Jerry Pujia. When Jerry Puiia moved from New York to Connecticut he knew something wasn't right--there were no bagel shops. With the help of his brother Joe, Puiia opened The Bagel Stop in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1990. When the company began franchising in 1992, its name changed to Between Rounds. Between Rounds shops combine a bagel shop and a catering service with two of the most profitable sections in a supermarket--the deli and the bakery.

Overview

The franchisee will be operating a retail food shop under the name and mark “Between Rounds”, which features freshly baked bagels, breads and other baked goods as well as delicatessen and other prepared food products on an eat-in or take-out basis. As space allows, the franchisee will do the baking in an open area where customers may observe the baking process.

The franchisee will receive a territory consisting of a specific geographic area defined by streets or natural boundaries. If the shop is located in a community of more than 50,000 persons, then the exclusive territory will be limited to one city block. Otherwise, the exclusive Territory will be a one mile radius from the franchisee’s shop. The franchisee may operate from one location only and must receive the permission of Between Rounds before relocating. Between Rounds will not operate or grant franchises for the operation of another Between Rounds food shop within the Territory. There is no minimum sales quota. The franchisee maintains the rights to the Territory even though the population may increase.
