The Bruges concept began as a street cart in downtown Salt Lake City and quickly became one of the most sought after food vendors around town and at the local farmers market. Belgian natives Pierre Vandamme and Philippe Wyffels started by wanting to share the rich, comforting food they enjoyed growing up in Belgium. Starting with family recipes and their memories from childhood, they worked diligently until they were able to recreate perfectly the authentic Liège waffle of their youth—it was an instant success! They quickly expanded operations to include genuine Belgian frites and other Belgian specialties. Featured on Man V. Food and adored by the local and national press, customers from all over the world have enjoyed Bruges’ warm, comforting atmosphere and flavorful cuisine. Bruges Waffles & Frites is now looking for franchise owner-operators to help us share the Bruges experience with the American West.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for owner-operators who are energetic and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, active in their local community, and have natural communications and leadership skills. No restaurant experience is required, but you must be financially sound with a clean background.

The ideal Bruges franchisee will be able to create the Bruges experience for our customers – fun, friendly, and cultured (but never pretentious!). As the representative of our brand, you should be able to make your customers feel like they have experienced a little bit of Europe when they visit your restaurant—from the quality, made-to-order food to the wonderful service.
