Buffalo Wild Wings was founded in 1981 when James Disbrow and Scott Lowery, both from Kent, Ohio, went on a search for Buffalo-style chicken wings. Unable to find one, they set out to open their own, and the first Buffalo Wild Wings opened in Columbus, Ohio, that year, then another in Westerville, Ohio, a year later. Things took off from there, to put it mildly, and today there are more than 600 Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants, both company-owned and franchised, in 45 U.S. states. The Buffalo Wild Wings headquarters is now located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2010, the company expanded into Canada.
