Chiropractic USA’s first franchise operation was opened in 2003, when Dr. Bruce Wong, of Honolulu, Hawaii, converted his practice into a Chiropractic USA franchise. Wong also contracted for an Area Development Agreement to franchise CUSA clinics throughout the state of Hawaii.

Chiropractic USA, led by Dr. CJ Mertz and Dr. Dennis Nikitow, and Banyan President Cory Gelmon and CEO Michael Gelmon, embarked on a plan in 2002 to expanding their brand by acquiring a chain of chiropractic clinics in Louisiana. In 2009, Chiropractic launched an online database of information catering to chiropractic practitioners worldwide, adding more than $1.5 million in annual revenue through service fees.
