The founders of Mattress Firm wanted to create a store that would feel welcoming to all customers. Unlike other similar stores that are often quite cluttered and crowded, these stores have a large retail space that gives customers plenty of room to walk around and look for the products that they need without feeling crowded. Customers find themselves greeted by friendly faces and sales staff who understand their needs and can talk with them about the differences between mattresses, box springs, and other products. The Mattress Firm now offers products from Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Serta, Simmons, and other top manufacturers.

Mattress Firm Franchise History

When Mattress Firm first opened, it billed itself as the place for shoppers interested in mattresses and box springs. The success recorded by the first store led to the owners opening a handful of other locations in the surrounding area before expanding into other states. As the bedding industry changed, the founders decided to open Super Centers that offered even more options for customers. By 2002, there were more than 200 Mattress Firm shops in the United States and this number has grown to over 1100 locations across 28 states.
