About More Space Place

More Space Place is the nation's largest retail franchise chain of wall bed and closet systems with 36 locations throughout the United States. More Space Place retail stores sell a collection of space saving furniture for every room in the home, including Murphy beds, wall beds, panel beds, wall units, entertainment centers, home office work stations, closet and organizational systems, pantry systems and garage systems. Founded in 1989, More Space Place is headquartered in Clearwater, Florida.

The More Space Place addresses some of today's greatest challenges: needing more space and better organization. Not only do they offer the new and improved versions of the original Murphy bed, along with an array of accompanying cabinets, but also solutions for home offices, closets, garages, entertainment centers, laundry rooms and pantries.

Company History

More Space Place began its legacy with an office and warehouse space in Jacksonville, FL. The company was one of the first to introduce the combination of a quality “Murphy bed” frame with the low cost of melamine cabinetry. In 1993, the conversion to a franchise company took place, using the name Murphy Bed Centers of America. Robert H. Wood purchased the Fort Myers, Florida franchise territory and eventually took over the Murphy Bed Centers of America in 1995.

There are currently 36 retail stores consisting of 34 franchised stores and two company-owned stores. The chain has presence in 13 states across the country including: Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Puerto Rico and Virginia. New openings in the marketplace continue to arise even among difficult economic conditions, presenting numerous opportunities for rapid growth and expansion. The company has managed to thrive and flourish, sustaining its profitability and carrying on its tradition of renown customer service and a flair for organization.
