About the Industry

Mosquito control is a fast-growing industry. As the weather gets warmer and the warm weather lasts longer, more people are experiencing the nuisance that is a backyard full of mosquitoes. There’s also growing concern about the public health risk from mosquito-borne diseases. In the United States, the most common mosquito-borne disease is the West Nile virus. There is no vaccine for WNV, and although only 1 in 5 people experience symptoms, 1 in 150 people will develop severe complications that may lead to death. Mosquitoes can make your pets sick, too – dogs can contract heartworms from them, and horses are susceptible to WNV and mosquito-borne encephalitis viruses.
