Passport Health founder Fran Lessans saw a need for a one-stop center where international travelers could get safety information and immunization services. In 1994, she opened the first Passport Health clinic in Baltimore. Now the largest provider of travel medical services in the United States, Passport Health has franchise locations nationwide and overseas. The clinics provide business and leisure travelers with destination-specific travel information, immunizations, travel shots, specialty travel products, and international travel health insurance. Franchisees also offer specialty vaccines unrelated to travel (such as flu shots) and can provide immunizations at clients? locations for corporations, churches, schools, and other organizations. International travelers are a key focus for the company, but Passport Health also provides immunizations for school, immigration and naturalization, bio-defense, disaster response, and military readiness.
