Donatos Pizza was founded in 1963 in Columbus, Ohio, by Jim Grote. Donatos pizza dough is made from an original family recipe. The dough is proofed using a specially-designed cabinet that controls temperature and humidity. Their sauce is applied by another Donatos innovation that ensures each pizza receives the perfect amount. A layer of natural, aged provolone cheese is then added instead of the usual mozzarella for an enhanced, fuller flavor. The pizza is then baked evenly to ensure a golden, crispy crust.
