Odyssey Art Centers
Odyssey Art Center was first founded in 1974 by Linda Perlmutter. After quitting her job as a teacher to stay home with her newborn son, Perlmutter started teaching small groups of children in the basement studio of her home. Odyssey Art Center is the nation's first art education franchise. The program combines history, poetry, literature, science, music, math, and current events with art. Each year, the classes are devoted to a thoroughly researched, specific area of art history. Previously, the classes within the centers have studied subjects such as Renaissance art, Medieval art, Greek and Roman art, Egyptian art, etc.
