Paradis Ice Cream, from Denmark to Los Angeles

Noticing a lack of ice cream shops offering all-natural, fresh ingredients in Southern California, three Danes saw an opportunity to introduce Los Angeles to a popular chain of ice cream shops from their home country.

In 2009, Mia Pedersen, her brother, and her boyfriend brought the popular Paradis Ice Cream concept to California. Within months the positive customer buzz and store traffic forced them to make expansion plans.

An ice cream sensation in Denmark since 2003, Paradis ice cream launched its first Southern California franchise in 2009.

Using the freshest fruit and premium ingredients, the brand's ice cream and sorbets are handcrafted daily at Paradis' central kitchen in San Fernando, California, then delivered fresh every morning to individual cafes, easing shop owner duties while maximizing superior taste and customer satisfaction.

The Paradis team collaborates closely with shop owners to find and secure optimal cafe locations, design and build customized cafes, while assisting with store operations and marketing.
