Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Expands in Virginia
Owner/Operator Rufus Littlejohn plans to open stores in Northern Virginia
(Alexandria, VA) Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is expanding in Virginia with a new two-store development agreement. Currently the state boasts nine Dickey’s locations with more in the pipeline. Owner/Operator Rufus Littlejohn will first take over ownership of the Centreville store by Fall 2016, then plans to build a new store in Northern Virginia.
An Alexandria native, Rufus Littlejohn has spent most of his career in real estate investing, sales and marketing. He was always interested in the restaurant business, and jumped when the right opportunity presented itself. He was attracted to the small footprint but high impact of Dickey’s stores and saw the potential for growing the brand in the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. “Dickey’s is a well-established concept with an affordable startup cost and plenty of training for new owners,” Littlejohn says. “I look forward to expanding this exciting brand into the Metropolitan D.C. area and hope to open more locations in the coming years.”
“Dickey’s is rapidly expanding on the Eastern Seaboard, and we are proud to bring Texas-style barbecue to this part of the country,” says Roland Dickey, Jr., CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “The Dickey family congratulates new Owner/Operator Rufus Littlejohn on his development agreement.”
