A: Hobby Quest specializes in after school enrichment activities. Being that fun outlet for children, our hands on approach gives us a huge advantage over other education companies. While the children are enjoying new activities, they learn a lifetime worth of skills and can actually see the results of their hard work - building a model airplane that actually flies, designing their own one of a kind garment and performing a magic trick that even adults can be fooled by.

Q: Can you tell us about the business model for a Hobby Quest franchise? How do your franchisees make money?

A: Hobby Quest is a home based business that can grow into an office or even an activity center for kids. For that reason our business model allows a very low initial investment and a quick ROI (return on investment). The after school program is a fast growing field with a never ending demand that grows through any economy. Parents value their children’s education and keep it as a high priority in their finances. Our programs are priced to be affordable for most families and low income areas will sometimes get funds for sponsoring Hobby Quest programs. In addition we also offer birthday parties, summer camps, workshops, events and many other activities which give our franchisees unlimited options for growing and matching this business to their lifestyle.

A: After School care is an area that, through this economy, has been growing rapidly. With parents needing to work longer hours, the demand for after school programming is never ending.

Q: Can you describe the primary target customer for Hobby Quest?How are your franchisees reaching out to this target customer?

A: Hobby Quest’s target customers are schools, recreation centers, childcare facilities, camps, and really wherever there are children. Our franchisees will become part of an industry that is active and growing and will reach out to children and parents by partnering with those locations and offering our programming to their community.

Q: How do you keep ahead of the curve when it comes to competitors?

A: Our unique programs allow us to be a sole vendor in most schools for the programs we offer. Our curriculum changes every semester which allow kids to sign up again and again. By offering 4 different programs which are appealing to all elementary age children, are giving our customers the option of using us a a one-stop-shop for all of their after school needs. They coordinate and work with 1 contact point to bring their students a variety of options!

Q: Where do you see Hobby Quest going in the next five years?

A: Hobby quest is aspiring to be wherever kids are. Hobby Quest’s proven methods and systems will become a success in any location around the US in the next 5 years and will allow kids to join this journey of finding their hobby and discover what they are passionate about.

Q: Are there any changes you foresee in your industry?

A: The after school programs industry is growing every year. In this day and age after school programs are vital to the well-being of children and their families. The time immediately after school (3 pm – 6 pm) are peak hours for questionable behavior. After school programs such as Hobby Quest make available a safe, positive, and healthy atmosphere inspiring learning and assisting working families. The U.S. Departments of Education and Justice report that students that take part in quality after school programs achieve better academic performance, behavior, school attendance, and have much greater expectations for the future. State-level funding for after school programs and school-age child care in the United States tops $13.8 billion annually.2 Our programs routinely receive funding through numerous government foundations including “No Child Left Behind” and “21st Century
