Innovation and Leadership Work Together
The company I am best known for, ActionCOACH, is the world’s number one business coaching company. We may not have been the first to teach businesses and their owners how to become profitable, but we certainly grew the industry, in large part through innovative use of the franchise opportunities model, which has helped us to replicate a proven system all over the world.
As our reputation and business grew, we had to find other ways to innovate to stay ahead of the game in an industry that was growing ever more competitive. While the innovation of franchising a professional service gave us a significant leadership position, that type of leadership came with its own set of challenges and questions: How can we continue to lead through innovation? How can we continue to lead while staying profitable? How can we continue to set a standard for excellence while keeping the business fresh and growing?
I believe that businesses must continue to grow or they begin to die, so whether you’re leading your industry or looking for your niche, you have to keep moving forward and find new and exciting ways to expand your business. This is why the ActionCOACH business coaching franchise is so active in undertaking new initiatives to spotlight our innovations and promote our programs as the leading global resource for business re-education. Last year we launched Coaching for a Cause, our award-winning pro bono campaign that teaches not-for-profit organizations how to run profitably and generate steady and on-going streams of contributions and donations.
The Business Coaches that worked with these non-profits generated more than $3.5 million in additional donations last year. This year the campaign is still going, with a goal of raising an additional $5 million. This year, we have a new initiative that we are very excited about, the Business Excellence Forum and the Business Excellence Awards. This event will take place August 19 and 20 at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, directly before the ActionCOACH Global Conference. It is designed to educate as well as celebrate the best of the best in the world of small and medium sized businesses.
It is long past the time we should recognize what small and medium sized businesses do for their communities, while giving those business owners the chance to learn from some of the top speakers in the world. Owning a business can be a lonely experience. At ActionCOACH, we want business owners to know that they aren’t going it alone. Both the Business Excellence Forum and Business Excellence Awards are outstanding ways to show them exactly that.
